The Urban Prisoner: Photographs by Matt Weber

The Urban Prisoner: Photographs by Matt Weber

Author(s): Matt Weber
Date: 2004
Description:
In 1985, Matt Weber was a taxi driver in New York City. In traffic and while waiting at red lights, Weber would photograph what he saw from the driver's seat. Weber took notice of what most New Yorkers ignored or forgot. He captured the homeless seeking warmth, prostitutes crowding a car on an empty alley way. In 1990, Matt Weber left the taxi business to pursue his passion for photography. He shot everything from a robbery to a romantic kiss on the subway.
