La Ville en Toutes Lettres: Installations typographiques dans l'espace public

Author(s): Anna Saccani
Date: 2013
Description:
At the intersection of art, typography and architecture, the projects presented in this book give a new dimension to the written word and characters. Giant figures, Braille sculpture, quotations on the ground and poetic installations are all points of reference, reflection or daydreaming in urban spaces. In these cities punctuated by lettering, the names of the victims of dramas are displayed on the walls, the time is read on the facade of the buildings and the plates of sewer are made works of art. The author invites us, from New York to Barcelona via Seoul, to an artistic, historical and emotional journey. When typographic installations take over the space of our cities, it is indeed memory and poetry that punctuate our steps.
