Bushwick : Let Them Kill Themselves

Bushwick : Let Them Kill Themselves

Author(s): Danny Lyon
Date: 1996
Description:
The wanderings of the American photographer Danny Lyon (born in 1942 and famous among others for his book The Bikeriders published in 1968 in London) in the working-class district of Bushwick in Brooklyn. Lyon follows a few young people and according to the meetings and its walks takes striking photographs of the daily life of this predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The book combines a photograph on the left page and Lyon’s commentary on the right page. A very beautiful testimony on the life of a neighborhood and the idleness of certain bands magnetized by drug trafficking, violence and idleness.
