In March-April 1978 Gabriele Basilico (Milan, 1944-2013) was commissioned by the monthly news magazine Modo to carry out a photographic analysis of the world of discos in Emilia Romagna. The research was then continued by Basilico independently and presented in an exhibition in 1980. This volume republishes the entire work, one of the photographer's least known but in many ways surprising both for the technique used and for its content, whose anthropological implications-still highly relevant thirty years later-are well elucidated in the texts accompanying the reportage.
